Pili Named to Wooden Award and All-American Ballot

SALT LAKE CITY —  The Los Angeles Athletic Club announced its 2024 Women's National Ballot for the John R. Wooden Award. Utah women's basketball's Alissa Pili was selected as one of 15 student-athletes who are candidates for the Wooden Award All American Team and Wooden Award Trophy as the most outstanding college basketball player in the United States.
Pili has been on the Wooden Award's watchlist all season long. She's averaging 20.8 points per game so far this season, ranking No. 17 in the NCAA. She's racked up 666 total points this season which is No. 7 in the NCAA. She is 35th in the nation in field goal percentage as she's shooting 54.8 percent this season. Pili is shooting 39.4 percent from the three this season. She's gone 124-152 from the free throw line for 81.6 percent. She's averaging 6.5 rebounds per game and racked up 78 total assists, 28 steals and 26 blocks.Â
She was recently named as a Top Five Finalist for the 2024 Katrina McClain Award.Â
Pili caught national attention after putting up a career-high 37 points against No. 1 South Carolina on Dec. 10. Against the Gamecocks, Pili shot 65.2 percent from the field going 15-23. She went 3-6 from beyond the arc and 4-4 from the free throw line. She also managed two rebounds, one assist and three steals.Â
Pili was named to the coaches All-Pac-12 team this year which she made her third appearance on and her second straight.Â
She was ranked at No. 4 on ESPN's WBB Top 25 players list. She earned an honorable mention on the AP Preseason All-American list and was also named to the preseason Naismith Award Watchlist and Wade Trophy Preseason Watchlist.Â
Recently Pili was named as a Top 20 Candidate for the Naismith Trophy. She was also named to the USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and All-America Watch List.
She was the 2023 Pac-12 Player of the Year and earned Pac-12 All-Conference honors. Last year, Pili was a WBCA All-American and was named an AP and USBWA Second Team All-American.
