IRVINE, Calif. – Core Jackson and
Hunter Antillon each had two hits, but the Utah Baseball team was unable to complete a rally from a five-run deficit and dropped a 5-3 contest in the regular season finale on Saturday at Great Park.

Jackson hit safely for the eighth straight game and reached base for the 27th straight contest.
USC used five straight hits in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead. The Utah defense did save another run from coming in, however; when Jacob Galloway's double was played off the wall by
TJ Clarkson in right field, Clarkson hit Jackson in position for the cutoff, who then fired on target to Antillon for an out at home plate.
In the sixth inning Utah got a pair of runs back. Clarkson's sac fly brought Jackson home on the heels of a Trojans error, then Antillon put a base hit into left field scoring
Kai Roberts and moving the score to 5-2.
Kaden Carpenter clubbed a solo home run during the seventh inning, sending a 1-0 pitch to the berm in right field for his fifth big fly of the season.
On the mound,
Colter McAnelly (5-4) went 4.1 innings in his start before
Jackson Elder came on from the bullpen. Elder tossed 3.2 innings of three-hit, shutout ball with a strikeout and no walks allowed.
