SALT LAKE CITY – Coming off a second-round NCAA tournament appearance, University of Utah women's basketball head coach
Lynne Roberts has announced the 2024-25 non-conference schedule that includes seven games in the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
"I am very excited about this upcoming season" Roberts said. "The goal every year is to set up a preseason schedule that challenges us and gets us ready for the conference slate and the NCAA tournament. We are really looking forward to a Thanksgiving Tournament where we will play two NCAA Tournament teams and we are excited to take on that challenge. We also will play at two Big 10 opponents on the road, as well as two extremely competitive programs in Princeton and St Josephs here in Salt Lake City. Our non-conference schedule is set to prepare us as we head into our first year in the very competitive Big 12. We are looking forward to the new season and excited to welcome back our fans to the Huntsman!"
The Utes will begin the 2024-25 season with a pair of home games against two in-state opponents with Southern Utah on Nov. 4 and Weber State on Nov. 7.
Utah's first road game of the year will be at Northwestern University on Nov. 14. This will be the Utes' first matchup with the Wildcats since 2006.
The Utes will then host three consecutive home games with McNeese State on Nov. 18, St. Joseph's Nov. 22 and Montana State Nov. 25. This will be McNeese State's and St. Joseph's first trip to the Huntsman Center.
Utah will then head to a tournament over the Thanksgiving holiday, Nov. 29-30. More details on the tournament and opponents will be announced at a later date.
December will bring two home games with a matchup against Utah State Dec. 5 before the Utes will take on Princeton on Dec. 8. The last time Utah faced Princeton was in March of 2023 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament where Utah defeated the Tigers 63-56 to earn a spot in the Sweet 16.
Utah will end the non-conference schedule on the road with a former Pac-12 foe in Washington on Dec. 14.
Utah will enter the 2024-25 season coming off its third consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, and returns four starters from last year's team that advanced to the Round of 32.
