White and Wilke to Represent Utah at Big 12 Media Day

SALT LAKE CITY – The Big 12 Conference has announced the student-athletes attending Big 12 Media Day and Utah women's basketball will be represented by Maty Wilke and Lani White alongside head coach Gavin Petersen.
Wilke, a senior from Beaver Dam, Wis. is Utah's top returner. She averaged 9.2 points per game during the 2024-25 season while averaging 22.9 minutes per game. She was just shy of the elite 50-40-90 status last season as she shot 46.7% from the field, 42.9% from the three and 95% from the line. She averaged 2.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Over her career at Utah, Wilke is shooting 42.7% from the field, 39.5% from three and 86.0% from the line. She notched 111 total three pointers so far at Utah. Wilke is on the brink of becoming a 1,000 point scorer as she sits at 879 total career points.
White, a senior from Irvine, Calif. played her freshman and sophomore seasons at Utah before spending a year at Virginia Tech. While at VT, White started in 31 games and averaged 9.6 points per game. She shot 49.1% from the field, 50.0% from the three and 83.9% from the line. She averaged 3.3 rebounds per game and recorded 45 total assists.
Coverage on the main set will air on ESPNU and ESPN+ from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. MT each day. Matt Schick, Brooke Weisbrod, Anne O'Neil and Rachel Galligan will host on the women's day. The women's sessions will take place Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Commissioner Brett Yormark will speak at 11:10 a.m. MT Tuesday, preceded and followed by Q&A sessions with women's head coaches and student-athletes moderated by Missy Heidrick starting at 7:55 a.m. MT. Utah will be featured from 9:05-9:15 a.m. (MT). A feed of all press conferences and interviews will be available on ESPN+.
TuneIn Radio will also be at T-Mobile Center, recording interviews with coaches and student-athletes that will air leading up to the season. Ari Temkin and James Westling will be joined by Austyn Iven for the women's day.
The 2024-25 Big 12 women's basketball season marked the first time the Conference has had at least five teams finish the season ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll in consecutive seasons since 2010 (2008-10). The league has sent multiple teams to the Sweet 16 in four of the last five NCAA tournaments and has had at least two teams in the regional semifinals in 22 of the last 25 tournaments, tied for the second-highest percentage (88%) of any league during that span.
