SALT LAKE CITY – Utah women's basketball is now 3-0 on the season after taking down in-state foe Utah Valley 75-52 Tuesday night.
Utah remains undefeated in the all-time series with Utah Valley now claiming a 10-0 record. Utah had three Utes score in double figures and were led by senior Lani White's 16 points. Reese Ross also had an impressive night on the boards pulling down 11 rebounds tying her career high.
GAME SUMMARY The Utes kicked it into gear and captured some momentum early in the first quarter with a 10-0 run that was sparked by a made three pointer from Maty Wilke. UVU managed to stay in tandem only allowing Utah a one point lead at the end of the initial quarter of play.
In the second quarter the Utes continued to push ahead. Lani White contributed seven of the Utes 17 points, going 2-of-3 from deep. The first half came to a close with the Utes leading 30-20.
Out of the halftime break Brooke Walker and Grace Foster each scored five points helping the Utes to extend their lead. The third quarter closed out with Utah maintaining a 52-39 lead over Utah Valley. In the fourth quarter the Utes went on a 16-3 run over the course of three minutes and held Utah Valley scoreless during that time. The Utes continued to push and came away with the 75-52 victory over the Wolverines.
LEADERS The Utes had three score in double figures and were led by Lani White's 16 points including three knocked down from beyond the arc. Maty Wilke posted 15 points including five from deep tying her career high. Chrya Evans hit a season high with 10 points going 4-of-5 from the field.
Reese Ross had a big game on the boards and led the Utes with 11 rebounds tying her career high. Ross and LA Sneed led Utah with four assists each. Wilke added three steals to help out the Utes defensive efforts.
COMPARISON Utah shot 55% from the field while Utah Valley shot 33% from the field. Utah went 52% from three making 13-of-25 while Utah Valley went 36% shooting 4-of-11.
The Utes out rebounded Utah Valley 38-29. The Utes showed their selflessness yet again posting 21 assists while the Wolverines just had eight. Utah showed strong depth scoring 24 points off the bench while Utah State scored 21.

Utah has posted 20 or more assists in every game so far this season. Utah had 21 assists on 28 made field goals for 75% for the second time this season. Utah matched those numbers against Sioux Falls in the season opener (11/3/25).
UP NEXT Utah takes on No. 25 Washington on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the John M Huntsman Center in the Dark Mode and Women In Sports Game. Utah will then hit the road to play in the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase where they will take on Syracuse Nov. 21 and No. 1 UConn Nov. 23.
