SALT LAKE CITY — In a ranked Big 12 clash, No. 52 Utah dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 11 UCF on Sunday afternoon. The Utes now sit at 13-6 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play.
Utah jumped out to an early lead in doubles.
Charles Frey and
Reid Jarvis earned a 6-3 win on court two. UCF picked up a victory at No. 1 leaving the doubles decision to the No. 3 spot.Â
Nicolas Calixto and
Emmett Potter secured the doubles point with a 7-6(5) tiebreak victory.Â
In singles, UCF responded with straight-set wins on courts one, five, and four to take a 3-1 lead. The match was clinched on court two, where the Knights secured the final point.
Emmett Potter was locked in a third-set battle, where he led 5-2 when the match was called.
