Three Utes Earn Big 12 All-Conference Honors

SALT LAKE CITY – The Big 12 Conference announced its end of year awards with Utah women's basketball's Gianna Kneepkens being named Big 12 Scholar Athlete. Kneepkens was also named to the All-Big 12 First Team with Mayé Touré earning All-Big 12 Third Team and Kennady McQueen earning an honorable mention.
Kneepkens is the first Ute to earn Big 12 Scholar Athlete. She has a 3.909 cumulative GPA and is majoring in Health and Kinesiology. She was also named to the All-Big 12 First Team as she averages 19.0 points per game and is shooting 51.3% from the field, 45.3% from the three and 90.5% from the free throw line.
She leads the Big 12 in three point percentage and free throw percentage. She was named Big 12 Player of the Week once this season after putting up back-to-back 30-point games including a career-high 32 points against BYU. She was also named to the Big 12 Preseason All-Conference team.
Touré was named to the All-Big 12 Third Team. She averages 13.1 points per game and is shooting 44.8% from the field and 65.1% from the free throw line. She leads the Utes in rebounding pulling down 6.9 per game with 148 defensive rebounds and 51 offensive boards.
McQueen was named as a Big 12 Honorable Mention with her 10.8 point per game average. She's shooting 50.3% from the field, 43.4% from the three and 90.9% from the free throw line. She is fifth in the Big 12 in three point percentage and 10th in the Big 12 in three pointers made per game (2.33).
