MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Utah men's tennis team took on Middle Tennessee on the opening day of the Battle of Boro and fell 4-0.

The Blue Raiders secured the doubles point advantage to start the match off. Middle Tennessee picked up a win at the No. 2 doubles spot to start things off. Then in the No. 1 spot Dante Teramo and Balthazar Huss took their set into a tiebreak with No. 38 Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak but fell 7-6 (2).

At the No. 3 spot, Aj Deem and Lorenzo Esquici were tied at 6-6 and up 2-0 in the tiebreak before being left unfinished.

In singles action, the Blue Raiders picked up wins at the No. 3, No. 6 and No. 5 spots to secure the overall victory 4-0 over the Utes.

At the No. 1 spot, Teramo dropped his first set 2-6 but won the second set 6-3. He was down 4-2 in the third set to Horak before the match was left unfinished.
Emmett Potter won his first set 6-4 and was down 5-6 in the second before remaining unfinished at the No. 2 spot.

At the No. 4 spot, Simeon Terziev won his first set 7-6 and was down 3-4 in the second before going unfinished.

Utah is now 3-5 overall on the season.

The Utes will stay in Murfreesboro, Tenn. to take on Rice Saturday, Feb. 21 and Old Dominion Sunday, Feb. 22.
