The following list of identified service goals is specific to athletics academic support services as provided by the BURB team:
- guidance and advising for all student-athletes specific to academic program requirements, courses, priority registration, and other policies & procedures;Â
- resources and strategies needed, for all student-athletes, to achieve academic success;
- a study environment that is responsive and supportive to the needs of all student-athletes;
- updates for coaches specific to academic progress and performance monitoring for all student-athletes;
- information on academic issues to aid in the operation of the Department of Athletics; and
- career and graduate school opportunities for all interested student-athletes.
- encourage ethical behavior in the classroom and the athletic field or court;
- conduct all activities and services in compliance with the BURB, Department of Athletics, The University of Utah, the Big 12 Conference, and NCAA regulations;
- work with other University departments to ensure cooperation between athletic and academic programs needed for student-athlete academic success;
- uphold all of the written dictates specific to the University’s Code of Student Rights & Responsibilities and the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA); and
- monitor the progress towards degree and ongoing NCAA eligibility/certification of all Utah student-athletes
