WINGS
Versatility is the one constant among Utah's wing players who bring a wide variety of skills to the court, including athleticism, defensive tenacity, and shooting ability.
Sophomore Tanaeya Boclair was a Pac-12 All-Freshman Team Honorable Mention pick in 2014-15. She started all 30 games and finished second on the team with 9.0 points per game and a .414 field goal percentage (98-237).
"If she chooses to be, `Tay' will be a Pac-12 All-Conference player," Roberts said. "She has the talent and the athleticism to be one of the best wings in the conference, without a doubt."
Redshirt sophomore Malia Nawahine was second on the team with 13.3 points per game before being sidelined last season. She started 12 games and appeared in all 31 contests during her true freshman campaign in 2013-14 with six games where she reached double figures in points.
"I'm excited about Malia," Roberts said. "She's healthy and I believe will have a great year. She has the speed and athleticism that our team needs and on top of that, she plays extremely hard. She plays with a chip on her shoulder, which I love and we need more of that. She's very fast with the ball, can shoot the 3, can rebound and can attack the bucket. She's going to have a great year."
Junior Paige Crozon was second on team in 3-point territory (24-71) during her sophomore campaign and third with a .412 field goal percentage (47-114). She finished with eight games with at least nine points, including three double-figure point games and five different nine-point outings.
"Paige is one of our most complete all-around players," Roberts said. "She can attack the basket, she can rebound and she can really shoot. She's been given a little more freedom and she's taken it and running with it. She looks really good. She's physical. She has one speed and it's maximum effort, which is great. I enjoy coaching players like that."
Senior Katie Kuklok is in her second season in the Utah program and comes back for her redshirt senior season. She was on the Western Athletic Conference All-Newcomer Team in 2013-14 at Utah Valley and led the Wolverines in scoring, pouring in a team-best 16.0 points per game, which stood fifth in the WAC.
"Coaches may say some things that are overstated, but from what I've seen in pre-season drills, Katie may be the best shooter I've ever been around," Roberts said. "She can flat out shoot the ball."
Sophomore Devri Owens is also expected to contribute, while Clemson transfer Daneesha Provo will be forced to sit out this season.
"Devri can shoot from long range," Roberts said. "We expect her to stretch the defense and create plays for others with her passing ability."
