The Basics: The University of Utah women's basketball program tips off the 2017-18 season with its only exhibition game, taking on Carroll College (Mont.) on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. MT.
Excel in Exhibitions: Utah is 2-0 in exhibition games under the direction of head coach
Lynne Roberts. The Utes earned a 77-69 victory over Fort Lewis in 2015, also beating South Dakota School of Mines & Technology 96-42 last season.
About the Fighting Saints: Carroll College finished the 2016-17 season 18-13 overall and 8-10 in the Frontier Conference. They advanced to the quarterfinals of their conference tournament before falling to Montana Tech, 78-64. Carroll College (NAIA) returns experience to the court this season with three starters making their return, including preseason all-conference selection Hannah Dean who averaged 10.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game last season.

Game Promotions: Utah's exhibition game against Carroll College will be "Future Scholar's Field Trip Day." The Utes will welcome 2,000+ students and teachers from Salt Lake County to the Jon M. Huntsman Center where they will receive an interactive education packet that will test the students on math, geography, history, grammar and spelling along with sport science. Fifteen schools are signed up to attend the game and all in attendance will all receive a "Family Pass Coupon" that is redeemable for up to six tickets to any game this year.
Exhibition Success: Under the direction of head coach
Lynne Roberts, the Utes are 2-0 in exhibition games. Utah has won four of its last five exhibition games and outscored its opponents 405-271.
#Winning: Utah enters the season as the 18th most winningest program in NCAA Division I women's basketball. The Utes only trail Stanford (ranked No. 4, .765) as the only two teams from the Pac-12 represented in the Top 25. Utah has a .680 winning percentage since 1975.
Flashback: The Utes finished the 2016-17 season 16-15 overall, appearing in postseason play for the second consecutive season. Utah made its 29th postseason appearance in school history and its ninth time in the WNIT. The Utes had two players join the 1,000-point club in
Paige Crozon (1,003) and
Emily Potter (1,248). Potter went on to earn Pac-12 all-defensive team honors and All-Pac-12 by the media.
Home Sweet Home: The Utes are 489-102 all-time in the Jon M. Huntsman Center, holding a winning home record for three straight seasons and in five of the last six seasons.
