The Basics: The University of Utah women's basketball program is sticking around the Huntsman Center this week as they host its second of three straight home games on Friday, Nov. 16. Long Beach State will come to town on Friday for a 7 p.m. MT tip.

The Opponent: Long Beach State has opened the season with two losses, falling to Cal Baptist (85-83) and Pac-12 foe USC (86-50). Despite the 0-2 start, the Beach have three players averaging in double figures in Shanaijah Davison (17.5), Jasmine Hardy (12.5) and Naomi Hunt (11.0). Through two games, Long Beach State is leading the Big West and ranks in the top 30 nationally in three-pointers made per game, averaging 10.5.

Last Time Against Long Beach State: The last time that Utah and Long Beach State battled was in 2013 in the opening round of the WNIT. Utah came away with a 56-49 win, sparking a run to the WNIT championship game. The Utes were led by Michelle Plouffe, who scored 17 points and also grabbed 14 rebounds. Taryn Wicijowski (12 pts) and Iwalani Rodrigues (10 pts) also scored in double digits while current video coordinator

• Utah has two players averaging double doubles in
Dre'Una Edwards (13 ppg, 12.5 rpg) and
Megan Huff (18 ppg, 11.5 rpg). They are tied for seventh in the nation.
• Utah secured its 900th program win with the 72-62 victory over Alabama on Tuesday night.
• The Utes are ranked No. 24 in the nation in rebounds per game (49.5) and are out-rebounding their opponents by 18.5 (ranks No. 19 nationally).

Utah vs. The Big West: Utah is 20-6 against the current members of the Big West Conference, including holding a 4-2 record over Long Beach State. Huff on the Swat: Megan Huff came away with a career-high four blocks against Alabama after having three on three separate occasions last season. The Utes are currently tied for second in the Pac-12 in blocks (4.5 bpg) with Huff tied for second individually.

Dru Dishes: In her first two games in a Utah uniform, redshirt freshman Dru gylten has led the Utes in assists with six at Nevada and seven against Alabama. She ranks fifth in the Pac-12 and in the top 40 nationally in assists per game (6.5).
