The Basics: The University of Utah women's basketball team will remain on the road for a pair of games in the Bay Area, starting with #17 Stanford on Friday, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. MT. The Utes will then head over to Berkeley for a Sunday afternoon game against Cal at 3 p.m. MT.
On The Road: Utah is 19-15 on the road under the direction of head coach Lynne Roberts (7-2 in 2017-18, 6-6 in 2016-17, 6-7 in 2015-16). Both Stanford and Cal hold advantages in the all-time series when the Utes play on the road, but Utah has defeated Cal the last two times they visited Berkeley.
About the Cardinal: The Stanford Cardinal enter the game against the Utes 16-8 overall and 10-2 in conference games, ranking No. 17 in the AP Top 25 and is currenly tied for first with Oregon and UCLA in the Pac-12. They are led in scoring by Brittany McPhee, who is averaging 17.4 points per game. The Cardinal totes one of the best defenses in the Pac-12, ranking second in the league and 13th in the country in field goal percentage defense, holding most teams to just 35-percent shooting.
About the Golden Bears: The University of California enters the weekend 15-8 overall and 6-6 in Pac-12 play and will take on the Colorado Buffaloes on Friday night before facing Utah on Sunday. Cal, who is tied with Utah in the conference standings, has three players averaging double digits, led by Kristine Anigwe, who is scoring 16.7 points per game and ranks sixth in the league in points per game.
