TALKING ABOUT THE GAME: Head Coach Lynne Roberts
"I think we played them pretty even in the second half and played a lot better, but the first quarter was a perfect storm for them. We were taking bad shots or turning it over, and they converted those. They had 21 fast break in the first half. Once they get going, they are the kind of team that can pile it on quickly, and that is what we saw."
"They are really good and you have to give them credit for the talent they have and they play really hard too. They compete. When they shoot that well, they are the best team in the country. We are young and learning and we have nine new players this year, but there were some bright spots."
"Kemery was a bright spot, she was huge. She is starting to play with that swagger, that confident look in her eye and that poise that we have been waiting for. She has been working hard and has hung in there. She was the leading scorer for us at Stanford and was the leading scorer for us tonight. I also thought the bench played well tonight. We didn't shoot as well as we needed to, but
Niyah Becker and
Maurane Corbin both did a nice job defensively for us tonight and so did
Kiana Moore."
