SCOUTING THE RED RAIDERS
Texas Tech, ranked No. 69 in the latest ITA poll, holds a 9-5 overall record. The Red Raiders enter the match on a two-match win streak after defeating UCSD and SDSU. Utah and Texas Tech have met four times, with the Red Raiders leading the series 3-1. Their most recent matchup in March 2024 went to Texas Tech.
SCOUTING THE COWBOYS
Oklahoma State holds a 5-8 overall record and enters the match on a three-match win streak. The Cowboys and Utes have met once before, with Oklahoma State securing a 4-0 victory in their January 2024 matchup.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah is coming off a gritty 4-3 victory over Old Dominion to claim third place at the Ed Collins Classic in San Diego, improving to 10-5 on the season.
After dropping the doubles point, the Utes rallied in singles play. Berk Bugarikj got things started with a commanding win at No. 1, but Old Dominion responded with victories at No. 3 and No. 5 to take a 3-1 lead. Emmett Potter answered with a straight-set win at No. 4, and Charles Frey delivered a clutch three-set comeback at No. 6 to even the match at 3-3. With everything on the line, Reid Jarvis battled through three sets at No. 2 to clinch the win for Utah.
UTES IN THE RANKS
Utah is currently ranked No. 52 in the nation in the latest ITA poll, continuing to build momentum throughout the season. In doubles,
Reid Jarvis and
Dante Teramo have earned national recognition, coming in at No. 74 in the ITA doubles rankings. The duo has been a strong presence at the top of Utah's doubles lineup, delivering key victories throughout the season.
HEAD COACH ROELAND BRATEANU
Utah Head Coach
Roeland Brateanu, the 2023 Pac-12 Coach of the Year and a five-time ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year, leads the Utes for his eleventh season this spring. Under Brateanu's leadership, the Utah men captured the 2023 Pac-12 Regular Season title and secured their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance, advancing to its second consecutive second round appearance with a win over Old Dominion. The Utes finished with a 24-6 overall record and a No. 1 ranking in the ITA Mountain Region. Brateanu currently holds a 183-106 overall record at Utah.
