SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah women's basketball team begins Pac-12 Conference play in Los Angeles, Calif. against No. 10 UCLA Friday, Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. MT and USC Sunday, Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. MT.
The Utes are an unblemished 11-0 for the first time since the 2000-01 season. Utah is receiving votes in the AP poll (4) and the Coaches poll (6).

Scouting the Bruins: UCLA holds the edge against Utah with a 10-3 overall record. The Utes saw their last win at home in 2001. The last matchup between the two schools resulted in a 69-63 win for the Bruins on Jan. 1, 2016. UCLA is ranked 10th in the AP poll and the coaches poll.
Scouting the Trojans: USC leads the all-time series against the Utes at 10-5. Utah's last win came on Feb. 1, 2013 in a 63-60 battle on the road. The Trojans have won the last five games with a 70-59 victory the last time these two teams faced off.
Ute-Fence: Utah ranks third in the NCAA in field-goal percentage defense with opponent shooting 31.0 percent from the floor. The Utes are 12th nationally and first in the league in block shots average, swatting 6.5 shots per contest. The team's perimeter defense holds opponents to 23.6 percent from the 3-point arc good for sixth in the nation and second in the Pac-12.
Potter in the Paint: Junior forward
Emily Potter is ranked 18th in the nation and third in the Pac-12 in field-goal percentage as the 6-6 Winnipeg, Manitoba native is shooting 60 percent from the floor. Potter is averaging 17.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game with six double-doubles on the season. She ranks second in rebounds per game (10.8) and third in the Pac-12 in rebounds (119). Potter knocked down her 1,000th career point on a free-throw in the first quarter against Northern Arizona to emerge as one of just 26 Utes to reach the milestone.
Magnificent Malia: Junior wing
Malia Nawahine is the second leading scorer for the Utes with 12.4 points per game as she leads the team from the foul line on 80-percent shooting. Nawahine grabbed a career-high five steals in a 30-point win over Nevada.
Boasting Boclair: Junior wing
Tanaeya Boclair is averaging 11.4 points per game while shooting 73 percent from the foul line.
Cruzin' Crozon: Senior wing
Paige Crozon is shooting a team-best 36 percent from the arc while averaging 9.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. The team's lone senior has tallied 799 career points with time to reach the 1,000 points club.
Buckets by Bean: Sophomore
Erika Bean dishes out 7.0 assists per game, good for second in the Pac-12. Despite being the shortest starter, the 5-8 guard also has 10 blocks on the season while pulling down 4.8 rebounds per game.
Seeing Double: Junior forward
Emily Potter has tallied six double-doubles in 11 games while also averaging a double-double (16.8 pts, 10.9 rbs). Senior wing
Paige Crozon earned her first double-double of the season against Fresno State.
Record Watch: Junior forward
Emily Potter is moving up the career blocks list in Utah's record book with 150 blocks as her 3-block performance against Nevada moved her into second. The 6-6 forward has swatted 33 shots this season for a career total of 159 blocks heading into the NAU matchup.
