The Basics: The 2018-19 Utah women's basketball season gets underway with an exhibition game against the Westminster College Griffins on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The Halloween day game is set for an 11 a.m. MT tip.

Game Promotions: Get to the game early for some Trick-or-Treating on the concourse of the Huntsman Center! From 10-10:45 a.m., Utah student-athletes and staff will be passing out candy to children who want to trick-or-treat prior to the game.

The Opponent: Westminster College, who plays in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, is a NCAA Division II school in Salt Lake City. The Griffins finished fourth last year in the RMAC with a 15-7 conference record and 16-10 overall. They return all-conference selections Denise Gonzalez (14.4 ppg in 2017-18) and Hunter Krebs (14.0 ppg, 5.3 rebounds) this season.

Exhibition Success: Utah is 3-0 in exhibition games under the direction of head coach
Lynne Roberts. The Utes have averaged 81 points in the three exhibitions with Roberts at the helm.

• Utah is coming of its third straight postseason appearance and its second 18-win season in the past three years.
• Utah returns three senior starters in
Erika Bean,
Megan Huff and
Daneesha Provo. Huff was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference first-team last season.
• After losing four players to graduation in 2017-18, Utah welcomes seven newcomers to the court this year. Four true freshmen (
Niyah Becker,
Dre'Una Edwards,
Lola Pendande,
Andrea Torres) and graduate transfer
Sarah Porter will look to make an immediate impact this year while Utah's two junior transfers (
Ola Makurat,
Julie Brosseau) will sit out in 2018-19 due to NCAA transfer rules.

Lynne Roberts three seasons at the helm.

Senior Spotlight: Utah has three seniors returning to the court this season, adding in a graduate transfer in
Sarah Porter.

Megan Huff is Utah's top returning scorer (14.7 ppg) and rebounder (7.8 rpg). She earned first-team all-conference in 2017-18 after scoring in double digits in 22 of Utah's 32 games, including seven games with 20-plus points.
 •
Daneesha Provo went from scoring 3.5 points per game in 2016-17 to 12.3 last season. She finished 2017-18 ranked in the top-10 in the Pac-12 in field goal percentage (.480), free throw percentage (.793) and three-point percentage (.404).
 •
Erika Bean has been Utah's starting point guard in back-to-back seasons, ranking in the top-five in the conference in assists in 2016-17 and 2017-18. She has started in 61 career games (32 in 2017-18, 29 in 2016-17).
 •
Sarah Porter comes to Salt Lake City after playing the last two seasons at UC Santa Barbara. She ranked in the top-15 in the Big West in three-point percentage in both her seasons at UCSB.
