UTAH: Walked on to the team in the fall of 2015 and was later placed on scholarship… suffered a season-ending injury in the third game that kept him out of spring ball as well.
2016–Played in eight games with two starts (UCLA, Washington), making five appearances on defense … 20 total tackles, 1.0 TFL … two interceptions, a forced fumble and a pass breakup … saw his first significant action at safety against Oregon State after an injury to Marcus Williams, making seven tackles and forcing a fumble … five tackles (1.0 TFL) and two interceptions in his first career start against UCLA … seven tackles and a pass breakup against Washington … honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic.
2015–Played in the first three games before a season-ending injury … saw time at safety against Michigan and played on special teams against Utah State and Fresno State … 1 tackle … lettered.
PRIOR TO UTAH: Spent two years at the College of San Mateo … did not play in 2014 after tearing his ACL two days before the first game … 32 tackles, three interceptions and four pass breakups in 2013 … nine tackles and two pass breakups against Modesto College … two-time first-team all-HAAL defensive back at Arroyo HS (Calif.) … second-team 2010 All-North Coast Section cornerback … also played quarterback and receiver in high school … made 36 tackles, three interceptions and four pass breakups, and passed for 225 yards and a touchdown as a senior in 2012 … as a junior, he had 41 tackles, six interceptions and 21 pass breakups, while passing for 304 yards and two touchdowns … also had 16 receptions for 250 yards and four touchdowns, and rushed for 78 yards on 39 carries as a junior … also played baseball.
